Functions
- AC TIG Arc Welding (AC TIG): TIG arc welding using alternating current. The electrode polarity alternates between positive and negative throughout the entire welding process. It is primarily used for welding aluminum and aluminum alloys.
- AC TIG Pulse Welding: AC TIG pulse welding combines pulse and alternating current modes, resulting in an even better weld.
- DC Arc Welding (MMA/Manual): MMA/manual arc welding is a versatile welding process because it can be used under nearly all conditions. In MMA/manual arc welding, various electrodes with different polarities can be used.
- DC TIG Arc Welding (DC TIG): TIG arc welding using direct current. The polarity of the tungsten electrode remains either positive or negative throughout the entire welding process.
- Pulsed TIG welding: In pulsed TIG welding, a base current is supplemented at regular intervals by a high-current pulse of the same polarity to optimize the arc characteristics for the desired welding applications. This helps prevent burn-through in thin materials and reduces heat-induced distortion of the material.
- Spot function: An integrated spot function is used for spot welding thin sheet metal and automotive body parts.
- Anti-Stick (MMA): If the electrode sticks to the workpiece, the welding current is automatically reduced. The electrode does not burn out and can be easily removed from the workpiece.
- HF Ignition (TIG): The contactless high-frequency ignition can be turned on or off as desired; when activated, it ensures easy arc initiation, protects the tungsten electrode and workpiece, and facilitates work in hard-to-reach areas.
- Hot Start (MMA): Automatic voltage boost at startup for better ignition results. By briefly superimposing the set welding current, it prevents the stick electrode from sticking and heats up the start of the weld seam more quickly.
- Hot Start (TIG): The Hot Start function enables a smoother and more stable arc start and increases the efficiency of arc welding. The Hot Start current can be set between 30–150 A.
- IGBT Technology: A powerful, innovative solution that sets new standards in welding technology.
- Smart Cooling: A powerful fan enables maximum duty cycle utilization through excellent cooling.
- ST-Guard Housing: Ergonomic, robust, and reliable. The control panel is easily accessible and intuitive to use.
Note: The holding force depends on the material composition and thickness.
Features & advantages
- Gas preflow. Thanks to the gas preflow, the shielding gas flow starts before the arc is ignited. This prevents the workpiece from coming into contact with air at the start of welding. This protects the tungsten electrode from excessive wear and the weld seam from oxidation. The gas lead time can be set individually depending on the welding requirements.
- Gas run-on. After the arc goes out, the tungsten electrode is cooled down by the gas run-on time and the weld pool is protected from oxidation. The gas run-on time can be set individually depending on the welding requirements.
- Starting current. Current used when starting the ignition before it changes to the set welding current (4T).
- Welding current. Infinitely variable welding current.
- Final current. Current that comes on at the end of ignition before the ignition goes out (4T).
- Current rise. After complete ignition of the arc, the welding process enters the current increase phase, in which the welding current is increased linearly from the set start current value to the desired welding current value (4T).
- Current reduction. After the torch button has been pressed and released again (4T), the device enters an automatic current reduction phase. Prevents blowholes (end craters) at the end of the weld seam.
- AC frequency. Depending on the material used, the frequency density of the AC waveform can be optimized. This accelerates the welding performance and improves the shape of the weld seam.
- AC balance. This function can be used to adjust the positive and negative current cycles for better breaking up of the oxide layer in the horizontal direction during AC TIG welding.
- Cleaning current. The cleaning current is used to break up the oxide layer in the longitudinal direction and to accelerate the formation of the weld pool.
- Pulsed current. The pulse current is a higher welding current that alternates periodically with the lower base current.
- Pulse width. The pulse width is the duration of a single pulse. The pulse width can be used to set the duration of the pulse current.
- Pulse frequency. The pulse frequency determines how often the current alternates between the set pulse and base current values in a defined period of time.

Note: The device is not intended for use in residential areas where the power supply is provided by a public low-voltage power supply system. It may be difficult to ensure electromagnetic compatibility in these areas due to both conducted and radiated interference.
