STAHLWERK products are designed in Germany and produced in compliance with the highest standards. The 7-year STAHLWERK guarantee applies to all electronic components installed in welding machines and plasma cutters. It also covers the rechargeable battery units of our brushless product line, car battery chargers, filter cassettes for welding helmets and compressed air compressors of the STAHLWERK brand.
In the case of welding equipment and plasma cutters, the warranty applies in particular to circuit boards and inverters. Especially for these important components, STAHLWERK grants the right to free repair within the scope of the warranty. This means that customers can enjoy their equipment for a long time and, together with STAHLWERK, take responsibility for the sustainable use of electronic equipment.
Best service for customers even after the warranty has expired
As an owner-managed company, we at STAHLWERK have been paying particular attention to solid quality and a long-term relationship with our customers for over 20 years. Even outside the warranty period, our customers can always contact us if they have any problems. We analyse the device in our workshop and work out the further procedure together with the customer. Regardless of the warranty and the type of problem, our service and technical staff are always available to help and advise customers.
What to do in the event of a warranty claim
Repair
The guarantee entitles the customer to free repair of any damaged parts covered by the guarantee. The warranty period is seven years and begins with receipt of the goods. Example: Receipt of the goods on 30.06.2020. Start of the guarantee period: 30.06.2020. End of the guarantee period: 29.06.2027.

To make a warranty claim, please contact us within the warranty period. You can do this either by telephone or by e-mail. Our staff will be happy to help you. If remote maintenance is not possible, please send the unit to us. After a detailed analysis, the unit will be repaired and sent back to you. If a repair is not possible, a replacement will be sent to you after consultation. The repair and the return shipment are free of charge for you. You only pay the shipping costs to us.
Services outside the warranty
Regardless of the warranty and the type of problem, our service and technical staff are at your disposal. Therefore, you are welcome to contact us outside the warranty period if necessary. After analysing the device, you will receive a cost estimate and then decide how you would like to proceed.
Warranty Conditions
Warranty Terms of STAHLWERK Welding Equipment GmbH
STAHLWERK Welding Equipment GmbH grants all customers who purchase STAHLWERK products directly from STAHLWERK Welding Equipment GmbH an additional seven-year durability warranty under Section 443 of the German Civil Code (BGB), in addition to the statutory defect claims under the BGB, according to the following warranty terms.

The warranty must be asserted against the warranty provider.
2. Personal Scope
The warranty applies equally to entrepreneurs and consumers, as well as legal entities under public law.
3. Geographical Scope
The warranty is valid worldwide.
4. Duration and Start of the Warranty
The warranty period is seven years and begins upon receipt of the goods. Example: Receipt of goods on 30.06.2020. Start of warranty period: 30.06.2020. End of warranty period: 29.06.2027.
5. Distinction from Warranty Promises until 31.12.2019
The seven-year warranty applies only to STAHLWERK products delivered from 01.01.2020 by STAHLWERK Welding Equipment GmbH. For products delivered by STAHLWERK Welding Equipment GmbH until 31.12.2019, the previous five-year warranty remains in place, which, aside from the warranty period, is identical to the current seven-year warranty.
6. Scope of Coverage/Limitations of the Warranty
(1) The warranty covers all STAHLWERK products, except for consumables. For these, the warranty does not apply, even if they are purchased separately rather than as accessories for a product.
A consumable part, as defined in these warranty conditions, is a component or part of a tool, device, machine, or system that undergoes continuous wear during normal operation due to mechanical, thermal, chemical, or other stresses and must be regularly replaced to ensure the functionality and/or safety of the tool, device, machine, or system.
Examples of consumables for welding devices are hose packages or ground clamps, ground cables, burner caps, seals, electrodes, shielding gas filters, collets, current nozzles, and ceramic nozzles. Non-consumables for welding devices include, for example, the circuit board and the inverter.
Examples of consumables for compressors include filters, seals, pressure switches, quick couplings, and valves.
(2) The warranty does not cover minor external damages, such as normal signs of wear that may occur with proper use over time, provided they do not impair the functionality of the product but only affect its appearance, such as scratches or minor dents on the housing of a welding device.
7. Content of the Warranty Claim
The warranty entitles the customer to a free repair of damaged parts covered by the warranty.
8. Right to Replace
STAHLWERK Welding Equipment GmbH is entitled to deliver a new device instead of a repair. In this case, STAHLWERK may request the return of the old device.
9. Right to Replace for Discontinued Models
If a device of the same design is no longer available from STAHLWERK Welding Equipment GmbH or the manufacturer of the device at the time of the warranty claim, STAHLWERK Welding Equipment GmbH is entitled to deliver a technically equivalent, non-identical device that meets or exceeds the technical requirements of the original device.
For equivalence, the focus is on the value at the time of purchase, not the replacement cost at the time of the warranty claim.
10. Exclusion of Further Warranty Claims, Especially for Damages
No further claims exist under the warranty, particularly no claims for damages, especially not for consequential damages.
11. Relationship to Statutory Claims and Other Contractual Claims
The warranty is additional to all statutory and contractual liability claims (also called warranty). It does not limit these in any way. All other statutory and contractual claims are also unaffected by the warranty. This applies especially to potential claims under the Product Liability Act. All statutory claims can be asserted free of charge.
12. Assertion
The warranty must be asserted by sending a repair request in any form, e.g., orally, by phone, in writing, or via email to STAHLWERK Welding Equipment GmbH and sending the purchased item to STAHLWERK Welding Equipment GmbH. To preserve the warranty period (= end of the warranty period, see section 4 above), it is sufficient if the repair request is received within the warranty period, and the item is delivered to STAHLWERK Welding Equipment GmbH within one week after the warranty period ends.
13. Shipping Costs
The customer bears the shipping costs to STAHLWERK Welding Equipment GmbH. STAHLWERK covers the return shipping costs to the customer, subject to the exception outlined in the next paragraph.
If the buyer's location at the time of the warranty claim differs from the location at the time of purchase and is outside the European Union, Norway, or Switzerland, STAHLWERK Welding Equipment GmbH only covers the return shipping costs that would apply if the item were sent to the buyer's location at the time of the original purchase. In this case, STAHLWERK Welding Equipment GmbH may require the buyer to reimburse any additional shipping costs before returning the item.
14. Warranty Validity with Simple Negligence by the Customer
The warranty is valid even if the warranty claim was caused by simple negligence on the part of the customer. Simple negligence occurs when damage to the purchased item results from neglecting the necessary care that a reasonably prudent person would exercise in the same situation.
15. Warranty Validity in Case of Force Majeure
The warranty is valid even in cases of damage or destruction of the purchased item due to force majeure. Force majeure is an unforeseeable, unavoidable event that comes from outside and cannot be prevented even with utmost care, such as a natural disaster like a flood or lightning strike.
16. Exclusion of Warranty for Intentional or Grossly Negligent Behavior
The warranty is excluded if the defect is caused by intentional or grossly negligent handling of the purchased item. Gross negligence occurs when a person fails to exercise the required care to a severe degree, disregarding what even an inattentive person would have noticed.
